Many parents are not as knowledgeable about computers as their children are. This presentation will discuss some of the items that parents need to be aware of, and what parents can do to keep their children safe while online.

Introduction / Identifying what some of the dangers of the Internet are. The focus will be on identifying items parents need to be aware of when their children are online, including filtering objectionable content, downloading programs, chat rooms, instant messaging, interacting with strangers, the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) and the Dot Kids Implementation and Efficiency Act of 2002.

Solutions / What Can Be Done?
Solutions including security and privacy tips, filtering and monitoring their children's Internet usage as well as educating their children about the dangers will be discussed.
